The Loggers Complete the Sweep in a 21-4 Victory Over Redlands

TACOMA, Wash. -- The Loggers complete the sweep of the Redlands Bulldogs, taking a massive 21-4 victory to start their season 4-0.

How it Happened
The game was statistically over before a second out was recorded Preston Crockett got the start on the mound for the Loggers, facing the minimum to get the Log rolling. The Loggers proceed to score eight runs in the bottom of the first inning, as Matt Churchill opened up the offensive barrage with a single.

Ryan Spero then doubled, Armand Lettiere walked to load the bases, and then Jonny Howton brought Churchill home. Lucas Brennan, Andy Moon, and Travis Ujimori all had RBI singles in consecutive at bats, making it 5-0 Logs. Three more runs scored before the Bulldogs put a stop to it, as Redlands' pitcher recorded 49 pitches in the first.

Cooper Allen added to the total with a 2 RBI double in the third, but the Bulldogs weren't finished yet. They scored twice in the top of the fourth, and again in the top of the sixth innings.

The Loggers added five runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth, as Moon singled to right to send Howton and Lettiere home, Ujimori scored Brennan on a sacrifice fly, and Cadence Ueyama doubled to right to send Moon home. After Ueyama made his way to third thanks to an Allen single, Brock Makishima sent him home with another sac fly.

The Loggers poured on five more runs in the seventh inning, adding insult to injury. Brennan sent Luke Farmer and Ryan Tobler home with a bases-loaded single, beginning the scoring run for Puget Sound. Jake Comeaux then doubled to right field, sending Brennan to third and Kahiau Teruya home. Ujimori was up next, grounding out to second but moving the runners around the basepads. Ueyama finished the scoring with a sac fly, making it 20-4 after seven innings.

The final run of the day came via an error by the Bulldogs' right fielder, putting the cherry on top of a 21-4 victory. Nine total pitchers saw the mound for the Loggers, combining for six strikeouts, four walks, and only four runs.
