Loggers Sweep Pacific on Senior Day

TACOMA, Wash. - - The University of Puget Sound swim teams celebrated Senior Day on Saturday, sweeping Pacific University in their final home dual meet of the season.

The Loggers honored their six graduating seniors for their contributions to the program, Maddy Brennan, Campbell Wencel, Amy Madsen, Jonah Shi, Kaya Fronek and Holly Zipay. The celebration continued in the water as the Logger men secured a 162-11 victory and the women earned a 132-49 win.

How it Happened

The Loggers opened and closed the meet by taking the top spots in all four relay events, the men secured their victories in the 200 medley (1:36.21) and 200 freestyle (1:30.11) relays, while the women mirrored that success with winning times of 1:56.15 and 1:43.84.
 

Holly Zipay led the women's side by sweeping the 50 and 100-yard freestyle. Logan Cezar paced the men with victories in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly.
 

Additional first-place finishes came from Sam Lyon (400 IM), Maddy Brennan (100 Fly), Gavin Legere (200 Free), William Cabana (100 Back), Joel Liu (100 Free), and Daphne Khong (500 Free).

What Happens Next

The Loggers will travel to Eastern Washington next weekend for two Northwest Conference dual meets. They face Whitman College on Friday, January 23rd at 6pm and Whitworth University on Saturday, January 24th at 1pm.
