TACOMA, Wash. -- The Loggers shut out Willamette on Senior Day, giving the team something to celebrate as they head into the final stretch of the season.
How it Happened
The Loggers came out swinging in the first half, using the high energy from the crowd and their bench to help put them on the front foot.
Leila Hausia-Haugen, one of the seniors celebrated, fired two shots in the first two minutes of the game.
Zoe Witter also got in on the action, just missing in the fourth minute.
The team put together seven more shots in the next 17 minutes, as Sudney Boyd,
Bre Fulton-Kaneshiro,
Hayden Goodman,
Mazy Wright, and Hausia-Haugen all contributed to the barrage on the Bearcats' goalie.
Ella Oetinger was the frst to break the ice, though, launching the ball from way outside the 18-yard box into the top right corner. Her "SportsCenter Top-10" kick landed the Loggers their first goal of the day.
Fulton-Kaneshiro followed that up with a goal just five minutes later in the 29th minute, following suit with a spectacular goal. This time, from the right side of the field, she sent the ball into the top-left corner. That's right, not one, but two goalazo's in a five-minute span.
The Loggers took a 2-0 lead into halftime, outshooting the Bearcats 15-0.
The team continued to play well in the second half, this time recording 12 shots at the Bearcats' keeper.
Sydney Boyd nearly found the goal in the 50th minute, hitting the right post in a shot from inside the box. She found her mark in the 63rd minute, though, as Hausia-Haugen played a great ball into open space. Boyd took a couple dribbles, then found the back of the net to make it 3-0.
The Loggers weren't done yet, though, as Hausia-Haugen finally got her goal on senior day.
Ellie Rutkin received a ball following a corner kick, splitting two defenders and sending the ball into the box. A cheeky flick by Hausia-Haugen found the back of the net, as she scored the fourth and final goal in the 69th minute.

Hausia-Haugen finished with 8 shots, 3 on goal, 1 goal, and an assist in today's match.
