TACOMA, Wash. -- The Loggers score twice in the second half in a 5-2 loss to Pacific Lutheran.
How it Happened
The Lutes got off to a blazing start, scoring two goals in just over 10 minutes. After the first goal was scored, the Loggers put together two shots, but couldn't find the back of the net.
Parker Norris picked up a save in the 10th minute, but the Lutes broke through again in the 11th.
Three more goals from the Lutes in the first half put a damper on the Loggers' spirits, as they found themselves down 5-0.
Rhys Foote and
Vinny Self both recorded shots on goal, but couldn't break through in the first half.
Despite the first-half deficit, the Loggers came out swinging in the second half.
Alonzo Flores-Barajas forced a save by the PLU keeper in the 46th minute, and found the back of the net just moments later in the 49th. Foote then got a golden opportunity in the 65th minute.
Kody Carmel played a great ball into the box from the right side, finding Foote for the Loggers' second goal.
Despite a press for more goals throughout the rest of the game, the Loggers came up empty. The Lutes held on, and the Loggers dropped this one, 5-2.
Top Performers
Jackson Smith, Foote, and Flores-Barajas provided the majority of the offense for the Loggers, picking up five, three, and four shots, respectively.
Luke Mamiya also kept a clean sheet in the second half.
