MCMINNVILLE, Oregon (October 15th, 2024) - Freshman standout
Maddie Badger yet again has led the Loggers (10-7, 7-2 NWC) to another win, this time at Linfield (5-12, 2-8 NWC). Badger recorded seven kills and two blocks, joined at the top of the box score by
Erin Fagan and
Sarah Johnsen, with ten and seven kills, respectively.
Head Coach Mark Massey responded to last week's win against Whitman by praising his squad on their preparations, their ability to recognize patterns mid-game and adjust as a result. The same was clearly applicable this evening - with a vast difference in blocks and points. The Loggers had six blocks, and the Wildcats only recorded two. Badger is currently sitting at 9th in the nation in blocks per set, with 1.26. Puget Sound as a team are ranked 7th in the nation in the same statistic, with 2.51.
The Loggers will stay down in Oregon this evening, to prepare for their match tomorrow against Willamette (6-12, 5-5 NWC), who is sitting at 5th in the NWC. Puget Sound is in third, behind Whitworth & Pacific Lutheran.
