McMINNVILLE, Oregon – Abby Stranahan scored five goals as the Puget Sound lacrosse team nearly completed an improbable comeback at Linfield, but the Wildcats held on for a 10-7 win Saturday.

Linfield held a 7-1 lead late in the second quarter, but
Cat Schilli and Stranahan scored consecutive goals to give Puget Sound momentum heading into halftime.

Bailey Fuhrmann, Stranahan, and
Emily LaRiviere combined to score the first three goals of the second half. Just like that, the Loggers were down by just one goal, 7-6.

Linfield briefly slowed the Loggers by taking an 8-6 lead, but Stranahan scored back-to-back goals to tie the game. With 8:39 on the clock in the third quarter, Schili scored again – this time giving the Loggers a 9-8 lead.

From there, both teams traded a goal, but Linfield sealed the game by closing it out with a 4-0 run.

The Loggers remain on the road to take on Pacific Sunday, March 12, at 1 p.m.
