SALEM, Oregon – Jonas Kim and
Dylan Joyce both homered as the Puget Sound baseball team split a doubleheader at Willamette Sunday. The Loggers won two out of three games in the Northwest Conference series this weekend, marking the team's third consecutive NWC series win.

Puget Sound 3, Willamette 1
Davis Miller allowed only two hits in five shutout innings, and
Jonas Kim hit a two-run homer in the second inning to lead Puget Sound to a 3-1 win.

Gio Parascondola led off the second inning by drawing a walk, and Kim belted his second home run of the season to put the Loggers ahead, 2-0.

Puget Sound added an insurance run in the fifth inning.
Clayton Waltz reached base on an error, and he moved to second base on a sac bunt by
William Gross.
Cody Hirano then delivered an RBI single to right field.

Miller won his first game of the year by retiring 12 consecutive batters to finish his outing. He lowered his season ERA to 1.06.
Tyler Beckley earned his first save of the season.

The lone bright spot was
Dylan Joyce crushing his seventh home run of the season. It happened to lead off the top of the eighth inning, but Willamette had already scored seven runs by then.
